Location Information
The Yellow Jacket Loop Trail travels southwest through high elevation timber and open meadows to the ridge dividing the North and South Umpqua drainages. Wildlife can be seen in the meadows during June and through July. The trail then turns east through timber and partially logged clearings to an area locally known as Dead Cow Lake. Turning north, the trail returns to the lake area and loops around to the boat ramp and dam sites. This trail junctions with Flat Rock Trail #1526 at one mile and the Snowbird Shelter Trail #1517 at 4.25 miles.
