From Pendleton, Oregon, Follow Umatilla River Road #32. continue past the Umatilla Forks Campground, past the Buck Creek Cabin, and to the South Fork Bridge, where the trailhead is located.
Location Information
The trail is open to hiker, horseback, and mountain bikers. The trail provides access to hunting and camping, some opportunity for fishing. Numerous river crossings act as barriers to hiker and bikers during high water period. The river crossings make the trail hard to locate in several spots. The trail is not maintained past the major elk camp at 2.2 miles in.
