Directions
From Pomeroy, Take County Road #128, where road Y's-about 10 miles- continue straight on to Mountain Road #40. Enter forest boundary, continue on Road #40 for 17 miles. Turn right on Road #4030. Follow road for 5 miles to trailhead.
Location Information
This trail is open to hiking and horseback riding. Trails going south from this trail enter the Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness, which is closed to use of motorized equipment. The trail is well maintained, easily traveled ridge top trail with many view points. The elevation in the 16 miles of trail vary from 5500 feet to 6401 feet.

Right from the trailhead, beautiful views are awarded to the traveler. Along the trail, there are many more opportunities to enjoy the view of the Wenaha-Tucannon Wilderness from Horse Ridge, which you are on, over to Oregon Butte. The trail is an enjoyable walk along ridgetops. There are many sites easily accessible for camping with springs nearby for watering stock along the way.
