From Hebo, Travel southeast on Highway 22 to Forest Route 1400. Follow 1400 east for 4.5 miles to the Hebo Lake Campground, where the trailhead is accessed. The trail can also be accessed from the South Lake Campground. From Hebo, travel south on Highway 22, past Castle Rock Campground, to Forest Route 2234. Follow 2234 north to Forest Route 2282. Follow 2282 north to Forest Route 2210. Follow 2210 north to Forest Route 1428, which leads to the campground. The campground is 13 miles off of Highway 22.
Location Information
The Pioneer-Indian Trail, first used by the settlers of Tillamook County, crosses Mount Hebo and connects Hebo and South Lakes. There are trailheads at both the Hebo Lake Campground and the South Lake Campground. The trail features open mountain meadows and heavy forests. Drinking water, parking and bathrooms are offered at both trailheads.
