Location Information
Game Lake Trail offers good views of the Illinois River drainage and on the upper end of trail there are some picturesque old pine and wild growing azalea and darlingtonia. A small creek, which is the lake outlet, trickles through a grassy meadow dotted with a variety of wildflowers. Game Lake itself is a shallow pond with hundreds of orange-bellied newts. The Silver Fire burn of 1987 can also be seen from the trail. Water and campsites are scarce.
