Directions
From Grants Pass, Travel southwest on U.S. Hwy. 199 to County Road 5240. Follow 5240 west across the forest boundary to Forest Service Road 4201. Take 4201 west to spur road 863. Follow 863 to the trailhead.
Location Information
The Kalmiopsis Rim Trail is a ridgeline trail running north-south along eastern boundary of Kalmiopsis Wilderness, providing access to several other trails within the Wilderness. This trail offers many viewpoints into the Illinois Valley where you will find a wide variety of tree species including Brewer Spruce. There is water at Cold Springs Camp and a dripping spring at Doe Gap.
