Location Information
The Osgood Ditch Trail is on the berm of an old mining ditch used for carrying water to mines in Waldo. Built in the early 1850's it is one of the oldest ditches in this area. Please do not disturb any of the Historical features. It's a nice, easy walk to the East Fork Illinois River Trail and it makes a nice day hike loop with the lower end of the East Fork Trail. There are two stream crossings on the lower end of the East Fork Trail that require wading in swift water about 1.5 feet deep.
