Location Information
The Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail passes through the Mount Hood Wilderness and nor permits are needed at this time. Wilderness regulations are posted at the trailhead. Camping is allowed anywhere except within meadow areas, 100 feet of a shoreline of 500 feet from Ramona Falls. The trail gains and losses elevation in order to cross the canyons of Mount Hood's violent glacial streams. These unbridged streams should be crossed early in the morning prior to their swelling from run-off.

A portion of the trail combined with the Timberline Trail #600 encircles Mount hood and is extremely popular in August and September.
