Directions
From Sandy, Travel east on Hwy. 26 to Welches. One mile east of the traffic light turn left on to Salmon River Road (2618) and continue six miles. The trail starts 1/4 mile up the old spur road to the right.
Location Information
Salmon Butte Trail climbs steadily through beautiful forest to the summit of Salmon Butte (elevation 4,900 ft.) where great views of the Salmon River and Roaring River Valleys are below. In addition, Mt. Hood, Mt. Jefferson and Mt. St. Helens are in the distance. June is the month to view blooming
rhododendrons.
