From Prospect, Travel northeast on Highway 230 to its junction with Highway 138. Continue north on 138 to Road 60, the Windigo Pass Road. Proceed 4.5 miles and turn right onto Road 6000-958, the Kelsay Valley Road. The campground is at the end of the road in 1.5 miles.
Location Information
The North Umpqua River rushes through the Kelsay Valley Trailhead Camp in a lush high Cascade meadow. Spring arrives late in the high country and it is welcomed here with a explosion of colors. Purples, reds, yellows, greens, and white are arranged in a riotous bouquet. Designed to accommodate equestrian use as well as standard camping, this campground also serves as the trailhead for the North Umpqua Trail, which connects with the Lucile Lake trail #1459, the Tolo Creek Trail #1466 and the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail #2000.Facilities include 16 designated camping units, picnic tables, fire rings and vault toilets.
