Location Information
Archie Knowles Campground, a favorite of tent campers, as well as fully contained recreational vehicles, provides visitors with access to hiking and fishing opportunities. The campground lies along the banks of Knowles Creek, a clear water stream that has its origins in the Coast Range. Facilities include trailer parking, water and flush toilets. There are no electrical or water hookups at the campground. The campground was named after Archie Knowles whose family settled on the creek in 1882. Archie was the first boy of European decent born along the creek. He worked briefly for the Forest Service in Eastern Oregon. Archie was the last Knowles to live on the creek.
