From Florence, Travel north on Highway 101, past Heceta Junction, to Forest Route 1060. Follow 1060 northwest to the campground.
Location Information
Sutton Campground provides a wide variety of recreational opportunities to visitors including hiking, fishing, photography, and bicycling as well as slide shows, nature talks, and other presentations at the amphitheater during summer months. Facilities at the campground include water, tables, shelter and flush toilets. Another feature of Sutton Campground is the Darlingtonia Trail. This is a short trail within the campground where hikers can view this rare, insect eating plant.The campground consists of three loops, Alder (A), Blackberry (B), and Chinkapin (C). "A" Loop is open for the entire year, while "B" and "C" are open from May through September. Loop D (Dogwood) is available by reservation only, and is open May through September. Rates vary so it's best to contact the district office for the most current information. Boats may be launched at Sutton Lake, a short distance from the campground, where visitors can enjoy fishing and pleasure boating. For RVs, the nearest dump station and shower facilities are in Florence. Group camp and picnic reservations are available from the district office in Florence. There are two group camping areas and one group picnicking area located at Sutton Campground. Rates vary so it's best to contact the district office for the most current information.
