Location Information
The Robert J. Lagomarsino Visitor Center is located in Ventura, California. (Park headquarters lie in the same area as the visitor center.) Within this facility visitors will find an abundance of information sources about the Channel Islands natural and man-made features. A film about the region is shown at the visitor center several times each day. The visitor center houses exhibits about the the animal and plant species that live on the islands, as well as a bookstore where reading materials and maps are available. Other exhibits include a living tidepool and a native plant garden. A picnic area outside the visitor center provides a view of Ventura Harbor. Visitors may also climb the tower at the facility to view the islands through telescopes provided. Interpretive programs are lead by rangers on weekends. Those interested in traveling to one of the Channel Islands or exploring the harbor by boat will find transportation information at this site.
