Location Information
Construction on Scotty's Castle began in the early 1920s, during a time of great prosperity in the United States. The structure was built in the mediterranean-style for Chicago millionaire Albert Johnson, but never fully completed. Today it stands as a relic of the opulence of this era in American history. The castle is open to the public for guided tours daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The site includes the museum, bookstore, gift shop and snack bar, as well as self-guided walking tours around the grounds and a picnic area.
