Location Information
The General Sherman Tree is accessible from Generals Highway two miles south of Lodgepole Village. It is the largest tree in the Giant Forest and all of the sequoia groves in California. The tree is billed as the "World's Largest Tree." It is a short walk from the roadway to the tree so expect crowds when you reach it. Also at the site is a cross-section of a sequoia with an exhibit panel that interprets the relationship between sequoias and fire.
