From Beatty, Nevada, Follow Highway 375 westward into the park follow a spur road leading southward to Beatty Junction and Highway 190. Turn right on to Highway 190 and follow signs to the visitor center. It is 41 miles from Beatty to the visitor center.
Location Information
The Furnace Creek Visitor Center lies in the central region of this 3.3 million acre park along Highway 190. This is a good place to begin your visit to Death Valley and gather information pertaining to the recreation pursuits you enjoy. This site is open daily from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. Exhibits on geology, flora and fauna, cultural and natural history give visitors an overview of the natural and man-made features throughout the park. A bookstore at this site, operated by Death Valley Natural History Association, provides reading materials and maps about/of the region.
