From Lake George, Wilkerson Pass Interpretive Center and Picnic Ground is located approximately 8 miles northwest of the small town of Lake George, Colorado. Visitors may reach this site by taking Highway 24 northwest out of Lake George for 8 miles to Wilkerson Pass Scenic Overlook

Wilkerson Pass Interpretive Center and Picnic Ground is located approximately 8 miles northwest of the small town of Lake George, Colorado. Visitors may reach this site by taking Highway 24 northwest out of Lake George for 8 miles to Wilkerson Pass Scenic Overlook.The picnic ground consists of 6 individual picnic sites with pedestal grill and table. Garbage collection and vault toilets are provided on site. A phone is available in the Visitor Center. The nearest fire and emergency services are located in Lake George. Located at the scenic overlook, is a 1.1 mile interpretive trail and opportunities for fishing in nearby Reservoirs. Other recreation opportunities include bicycle, equestrian, and motorcycle trails, and four-wheel driving. This center attracts over 150,000 visitors in the 4 months it is open from all 50 states and over 40 foreign countries.
