Directions
From Cougar, Follow Primary Forest Route 90 east across the forest boundary. Continue on 90 past the Lower Falls Recreation Area and the Middle Falls Trailhead to the trailhead.
Location Information
Quartz Creek Trail follows Quartz Creek drainage, although access to the stream is limited. It is a steep trail (43% grade), ascending and descending through numerous side drainages as it climbs its way up the valley. The trail features an ancient forest of magnificent cedars, firs and hemlocks in addition to craggy spires of exposed rock and steep rocky slopes as visitors break out into the upper section of the Quartz Creek Trail.

There is parking at the trailhead.
