Directions
From Leadville, From Leadville, travel 3.9 miles west on US Highway 24. Take Colorado 300 west 3/4 of a mile to Lake County 11. Turn left on to 11 and travel 1.25 miles. Turn right on to Forest Road 110 then follow signs to Elbert Creek Campground. The North Halfmoon Trailhead is approximately 3 miles passed the campground.
Location Information
North Halfmoon Trail begins at the North Halfmoon Trailhead on Halfmoon Road. The trail leads to the North Halfmoon Lakes paralleling the North Halfmoon Creek drainage. The trail gains almost 2,000 feet in elevation in less that 3 miles. The trail remains within the Mt. Massive Wilderness for its entirety.
