From Poncha Springs, Mears Junction Trailhead: Drive south on Highway 285 for 5.5 miles to the trailhead.
Location Information
This section of the Rainbow Trail leads 13 miles west from Mears Junction Trailhead to the junction with the Colorado Trail. The section of the trail from Silver Creek at Toll Road Gulch to the Continental Divide is CLOSED to motorized and mechanized vehicles. This is a long hike with some steep places and an over night trip might be in order. The Continental Divide marks the end of the Rainbow Trail. Anglers will enjoy Silver Creek, a lightly used fishing area located at the end of this segment.
