From Enumclaw, Drive 33.1 miles east on State Hwy. 410 to Crystal Mountain Road #7190. Turn left onto FR #7190 and continue 4.4 miles to FR #7190510. Turn right and follow 0.4 mile to Sand Flats dispersed camping area and trailhead.
Location Information
The Crystal Mountain Trail is an easy 9.1 mile hike, horseback or mountain bike ride. The trail begins at 4,080 feet at FR #7190510 and ends at 5,260 feet at the junction with the Silver Creek Trail #1192. This trail can also be a 12.6 mile loop trail.From the trailhead in Sand Flats, the trail climbs to the top of the ridge through second-growth, scattered old-growth and subalpine trees. At mile 7.8 is the junction with Henskin Lake Trail #1193, which leads to the Pacific Crest Trail at Bear Gap. At mile 9.1 is the junction with Silver Creek Trail at Jim Town. To reach the Crystal Mountain Resort Base Area, turn right on the Silver Creek Trail and continue for 1.5 miles. Hikers can walk along the power line road for 2 miles to make a loop and return to Sand Flats.
