From Young, Travel south on State Highway #288. From SH #288, turn east onto FR #203 (Cherry Creek Road), then follow this road for 9 miles to FR #203A. Turn north and follow this road for approximately 6.5 miles to the trailhead.
Location Information
This trail offers access to the Sierra Ancha Wilderness, scenery including views of Deep Creek, Cherry Creek and long vistas of the Salt River. Vegetation that inhabits the area includes oak brush, manzanita, juniper and Gambel oak. Wildlife includes javelina, bear and deer. This trail provides easy hiking and passes through a chaparral/grassland basin with fine views of the Sierra Ancha Mountain bluffs.
