Directions
From Crescent City, Take Hwy. 101 to the junction with Hwy. 199. Go east on 199 to mile post 24.85, turn right on Little Jones Creek (Forest Service Road 15, also FS17N05). Continue 15 miles to Forest Service Road FS16N18 and continue 5.7 miles, taking a left on Forest Service Road FS15N34; trailhead is on the left, very limited parking.
Location Information
This short but steep trail starts on a ridge and travels down slope to the South Fork of the Smith River where it meets the South Kelsey Trail. The Gunbarrel trail is part of the historic Kelsey Trail.
