From Downieville, Travel approximately 9 miles southwest on Hwy. #49 to Cal-Ida Road (County Road #490). Turn right and travel 0.25 miles on County Road #490, to the Fiddle Creek Trailhead. There is room for a few cars here or you can park at Cal-Ida Campground and walk to the trailhead.
Location Information
Fiddle Creek Trail is a moderate to difficult 4 mile trail at an elevation of 2,600 feet. This trail winds up the ridge, offering views into the North Yuba River Canyon, for the first 2 miles. The trail then traverses over the ridge offering views of Fiddle Creek Drainage. This trail connects with the Halls Ranch Trail. Hikers have the opportunity to return to the Cal-Ida Trailhead, hike on to Halls Ranch, or hike to Hwy. #49 near the Indian Rock Picnic Ground.
