Directions
From Gold Bar, Drive east on U.S. Hwy. 2 and then turn north at the Index turnoff onto the North Fork Skykomish River Road #63. Drive 22 miles to the road's end at the trailhead.
Location Information
The North Fork Skykomish Trail is a more difficult 8 mile hike or horseback ride. The trail follows the North Fork of the Skykomish River northeast to its headwaters. The hike continues through open forest, clearing into large meadows before the ascent to Dishpan Gap at the Pacific Crest Trail junction. Campsites are available along this trail.
