From Trout Lake, Travel north on Forest Route 23 to Forest Route 80. Follow 80 north to the forest boundary. Continue on 80 to forest route 8031. Travel west on 8031 until it intersects with Forest Route 050. Take 050 approximately 3 miles to the trailhead.
Location Information
Crofton Butte trail follows the contours of the lower slopes of Mt. Adams. Most of the trail is in timber. From Forest Route 050, the trail enters the wilderness after approximately 0.5 mile. There is a natural opening at Crofton Butte, which offers excellent views of the surrounding area. The trail crosses Croften Creek and then leaves the wilderness and crosses Shorthorn Creek. The trail ends on Forest Route 8040 and features wildflowers, scenery, and a beautiful view from Crofton Butte.
