Directions
From Carson, The Big Slide Primitive trail is accessed from Trapper Creek Trail #192 and Observation Trail #132. Follow the Wind River Highway (County Route 30) north to the forest boundary. Continue on 30 to Forest Route 5401. Take 5401 approximately four miles to the Trapper Creek Trail trailhead. Big Slide Primitive trail connects Trapper Creek trail and Observation trail.
Location Information
Big Slide Primitive Trail connects with Trapper Creek Trail #192 and Observation Trail #132, forming a loop opportunity in the Trapper Creek Wilderness. The trail has a very steep grade, poor tread, and is difficult to follow. This trail is recommended for experienced hikers only.
