Castle Lake Trail is minimally maintained and climbs the ridge, then drops down and follows Castle Creek to Castle Lake. Castle Lake was created when the debris avalanche dammed South Fork Castle Creek. The trail also offers excellent views of Mount St. Helens. Please protect the fragile ecosystem by using low-impact camping methods.
