Location Information
The Blanca Lake Trail is a strenuous 3.5 mile hike. The trail climbs immediately from the trailhead up 37 switchbacks, gaining 2,700 feet in elevation in 3 miles. From the ridge, the trail winds through grassy subalpine meadows until reaching Virgin Lake. The trail then descends 500 feet to Blanca Lake. The lake is a spectacular green color due to glacial till from the Columbia Glacier which can be seen at the northwest end of the lake.
