From Trout Lake, Follow State Highway 141 east to the forest boundary where it becomes Forest Route 24. Follow 24 northeast for approximately 5-6 miles to the trailhead.
Location Information
The Lemei trail originates on Forest Route 24 and passes through a second-growth forest. The trail then climbs to the ridge line, enters the wilderness, and intersects with Filloon Trail #102. Passing Lake Wapiki Trail #34A, the trail climbs steeply to open meadow slopes, providing excellent views of the lake and Lemei Rock before descending to the Indian Heaven Trail #33, near Cultus Lake.The trail features views of Mounts Adams, Rainier, St. Helens, and Hood, along with views of Lemei Rock, a 5,925-foot promontory that juts 500 feet above Lake Wapiki. Lemei Rock is the highest point in Indian Heaven Wilderness and is the core of an old volcano. Its crater forms the basin for Lake Wapiki.
