Directions
From Carson, Follow the Wind River Highway (County Route 30) north to the forest boundary. Continue on 30 paste Paradise Creek Campground, past Upper Wind River Winter Sports Area and past Long Butte Sno Park to Forest Route 420. Take 420 approximately 2 miles to the trailhead.
Location Information
Located in the north portion of the Indian Heaven Wilderness, the Chenamus Lake trail begins at the northeast end of Placid Lake. It proceeds part way around the lake, then climbs south to the shallow, 4-acre Chenamus Lake (4,245 feet elevation).
