Location Information
The trail begins from the White Ledge Campground picnic area where it starts on an upward climb to the southeast ridge of Carter Ledge. You will notice Middle Sister Trail bearing to the right. This trail takes you directly to Blue Mountain Summit 2,520 feet. You will also notice Nickerson Ledge Trail enters to the left which is a link trail over to Piper Trail and Camp Penacook. As you approach the second mile of the hike it makes a steady climb up a rocky slope offering a beautiful view of Mt. Chocorua. This route carries you into one of the three jack pine stands within White Mountain National Forest. The trail narrows and becomes even steeper (slippery when wet) as it approaches the upper junction with Middle Sister Trail at 3.7 miles.
