The trail parallels the Tecumseh Brook for a short distance before crossing it. About a mile into the hike, the trail crosses the same brook. You will see evidence of an old trail at several locations along the path. By hiking these old trails a short distance out and back, you'll be rewarded with a variety of excellent views. The trail proceeds to climb Mt. Tecumseh reaching a flat area where you will see Sosman Trail entering from the southwest. Continue on Mt. Tecumseh Trail climbing steadily to reach the summit of 4,003 feet. Mt. Tecumseh Trail descends northwest traveling over several ridges and knobs before having to cross Eastman Brook in order to reach Tripoli Road.
