Location Information
Much of the East Pond Trail is along an old logging road. When entering from the northern trailhead at the Otter Rocks Roadside Rest Area, hike south into a forest of mixed hardwoods. The trail will travel alongside Cheney Brook and then cross it and Pine Brook. The trail ascends gradually along Scar Ridge then descends to reach East Pond. On the west side of the trail, you'll see East Pond Loop Trail branch. This trail leads to Little East Pond. At this smaller pond you may travel south onto Little East Pond Trail which wraps back to East Pond Trail about .3 mile from the southern terminus along Tripoli Road. You must cross Clear Brook while hiking Little East Pond.
