Directions
From Yampa, Follow County Road 17 north 5 miles to County Road 132. Follow 132 west 3.4 miles to Forest Highway 16 and continue another 20 miles to Forest Road 967. Follow 967 south 1.6 miles to trailhead parking.
Location Information
The Transfer Trail is located in the Flat Tops west of Yampa, near Pyramid. It provides direct access into the Flat Tops Wilderness, connecting with the East Fork Trail #1119.

The trail begins at the end of Forest Road 967 it joins trail #1119 in 0.6 mile. Using this trail in conjunction with Forest Road 967 can save the hiker or horseback rider 2.3 miles of travel when entering the wilderness from this direction. Road 967 can become extremely muddy when wet. It is advised to park as close to the main road under possibly wet conditions. The last 1/2 mile of the road is also deeply rutted.
