Directions
From Meeker, Snell Creek Trail is located 39 miles east of Meeker. Take State Highway 13 east out of Meeker for one mile; turn right on County Road 8 for 38 miles to the Snell Creek Trailhead. The trail begins 1/4 mile above Snell Creek on County Road 8 to the north of the road. The sign reading Pagoda Lake 6 ---> Pagoda Peak 6 1/2 ---> marks the trail.
Location Information
The Snell Creek Trail connects County Road 8 with the Pagoda Lake Trail 5.5 miles to the north. It follows Snell Creek through patches of lodgepole pine, spruce-fir, and aspen branching up the middle fork of Snell Creek through large open meadows. The trail crosses the creek several times so be prepared to wade through cold ankle deep water. The trail is open to motorcycle use.
