From Manitou, From downtown Manitou turn west on to Ruxton Avenue and drive 1 mile to the Barr trailhead. The trailhead is immediately above the Pikes Peak Cog Railroad Depot. Travel 5.5 miles west on Barr Trail to reach the Mountain View Trail Spur.
Location Information
The Mountain View Trail connects Barr Trail with the Cog Railway to the south. The trail begins about .5 miles below Barr Camp on Barr Trail. A metal sign marks the Mountain View Trail as it connects with Barr Trail. The trail cuts across the mountain with little elevation gain or loss. Dispersed campsites are located along the trail.
