From Telluride, Travel west on Highway 145 to Last Dollar Road, #638. Turn right on to 638 and drive approximately ten miles. (You will pass Last Dollar Pass.) The trailhead is located on the north side of the road approximately 1/4 mile west of the pass.
Location Information
The first section of the trail follows an old abandoned logging road for approximately half a mile. The trail contours terrain for a very easy hiking experience. There are a few soft places during wet weather and three stream crossings that are not bridged. The trail is used by horses but mostly during hunting season. The last four miles is in the Mt. Sneffels Wilderness Area. Private land owners lease land adjoining Forest Service lands and post them. The trail connects with the Dallas Trail on the Ouray district of the Uncompahgre National Forest.
