From Foresthill, Take Mosquito Ridge Rd. to Placer Big Trees Turnoff and turn right. The picnic area and trailhead are .5 miles from this turn.
Location Information
Big Trees Trail is an excellent opportunity to spend a day seeing and walking through some of the most scenic lands on the Foresthill Ranger District. This loop is ideal for a leisurely day of sightseeing and picnicking.

Placer Big Trees are the northernmost grove of Giant Sequoia, and self-guided interpretive trail will lead you through this special place. The Forest View Trail is a longer loop that takes you through old growth forest. The adjacent picnic area makes a perfect lunch stop.
