Directions
From Crescent City, Take Hwy. 101 to the junction with Hwy. 199. Go east on 199 ten miles past the Visitor Center to mile post 24.85. Turn right at Forest Service Road 16 (also called FS 17No5), and stay on the paved road for about ten miles to the intersection with Forest Service Road 16N02, turn left and continue about five miles. The road ends at the Doe Flat trailhead, follow Doe Flat Trail 2.5 miles to the Devil's Punchbowl trail junction.
Location Information
The Devil's Punchbowl Trail is steep with many switchbacks; however it can be enjoyed by the average hiker at slow pace. The two picturesque lakes and spectacular views of surrounding mountain peaks and valleys make this popular among more experienced hikers. No Camping is possible at trail end; camp at Trout Camp at the Doe Flat-Clear Creek junction.
