Directions
From Lake City, Use the same access as the Big Blue Trail #232, but trail begins west of Alpine Guard Station rather than at Big Blue Campground:Go north toward Gunnison on Highway 149 about ten miles to the Alpine Forest Access Road. Take that road about five miles past the Alpine Plateau Road to Big Blue Campground (approximately nine miles from the highway). The trail begins about 1/2 mile south of the campground.
Location Information
Secondary access into the Big Blue Wilderness. The trail follows Failes Creek and Fall Creek through Engelmann spruce forest and open parks.
