From Grand Junction, Take Hwy 70 east to Hwy 65 south. About 15 miles before the town of Cedaredge take FR #121 east towards Grand Mesa. Travel southeast on Surface Creek Road (FR #125) when you reach it. If you have a 4WD, take FR #132 east to Cedar Mesa (otherwise it is recommended that you walk the remaining 2.5 miles). Cedar Mesa Trail #718 begins on the dam of the Reservoir and goes east to the Marcott Road, covering approx 3.5 miles. The trail passes through heavy patches of spruce/fir timber at 10,000 feet.
Location Information
Fishing on Cedar Mesa Reservoir is very good near the end of the season. This trail is for hiker, horse travel and motorized vehicles under 40". 4 WD is recommended for all motorized travel.
