From Gunnison, The Fairview Peak trail is reached by going east on Hwy 50 from Gunnison to Parlin. Turn left at Parlin and go about 8 miles to Ohio City. Turn left again in Ohio City towards Comanche and Gold Creek campground. Go past Gold Creek campground about one mile to the trailhead which is on the left.
Location Information
This trail follows Gold Creek past some beaver ponds towards Shaw Ridge. The trail forks before Shaw Ridge, the left fork goes to Shaw Ridge while the right fork leads to Fairview Peak. Fairview Peak rises to an elevation of over 13,200 feet, so be prepared for some strenuous hiking at high altitudes.
