Directions
From Gunnison, Take Hwy 50 east to Sargents. Turn right onto Marshall Pass road. Take the timber sale road that turns south off the pass road just on the west side of Marshall Pass. Public vehicles are not permitted but foot traffic is. About 1.25 miles along this road an old 4 WD road leads to the south side of Windy Peak. The trail begins at that point.
Location Information
The trail follows the Continental Divide for about 12 miles then drops down into the Tank Seven Creek drainage and along roads from Sargents Mesa to Middle Baldy (11,684 feet). The trail follows Razor creek and then swings around to follow the Continental Divide to the sawdust pile on Spanish Creek Pass. The Continental Divide portion of the trail is without water so it would be wise to plan your trip accordingly. This trail forms a portion of the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail and a portion of the Colorado Trail.
