Location Information
Searle Pass is located south of Copper Mountain. Searle Pass provides access into the beautiful and little used back country area between Vail and Fremont Pass. It is an easy walk up a 4 WD road for one mile, following Searle Gulch. After this point, however, the hiking becomes more difficult as the road ends and you must find your own route through the willow thickets to the summit of Searle Pass (12,200'). An outstanding view of the Gore Range to the north, and the Tenmile Range to the southeast, rewards the hiker at the top.
