Location Information
The Caribou Pass Trail begins at the Junco Lake Trailhead. The trail is common with the Columbine Lake Trail for the first 1.7 miles and then forks off. The trail features meadows with nice wildflowers in late July, and offers spectacular views. The Caribou Pass Trail between Caribou Pass and Lake Dorothy on the Eastern Slope is in hazardous condition. It is recommended that this part of the trail not be used. Much of this trail is located within the Indian Peaks Wilderness - regulations apply. A permit is required for overnight users between June 1 and September 15.
