From Graeagle, Travel south on Hwy. #89 for approximately 1.5 miles and turn right onto Primary Forest Route #24. Travel this road for approximately 6 miles and the trailhead is at the intersection with the road to Gold Lake Lodge. The trailhead is in the parking lot of the Gold Lake Lodge. Trailhead T.21N., R.12E., Section 8.
Location Information
The Round Lake Trail (12E33, 12E34 and 12E39) is a moderately difficult 3.3 mile hike at an elevation of 6,600 feet. This trail is well maintained trail that leads 1.7 miles to Round Lake then climbs steadily up a steep and rocky 0.7 miles to the PCT and a 4 WD trail. A rough and rocky 0.9 miles trail connects Round Lake with Silver Lake. Horse use is OK but not advisable on the trail between Round and Silver Lakes.
