Directions
From Graeagle, Travel south on Hwy. #89 for approximately 1.25 miles and turn right onto Primary Forest Route #24. Follow this road for approximately 3 miles and turn right onto the road to Gray Eagle Lodge. The trailhead is on the road to Gray Eagle Lodge. Follow the Smith Lake Trail for 2.5 miles and it will connect with the Mt. Elwell Trail. The Mt. Elwell Trail will connect with the Mud Lake Trail.
Location Information
The Mud Lake Trail (11E14) is an easy 1.2 mile hike at an elevation of 6,500 feet. This trail connects the Silver Lake Trail with the Mt. Elwell Trail.
