From Taft, Travel eight miles south on Highway 33. Continue south for 13 miles after Highway 33 joins Highway 166. Turn south to stay on Highway 33 and travel about 20 miles, turn left (east) onto Lockwood Valley Road and travel about 17 miles east to Grade Valley Road (FS 7N03). The first trailhead is located right off of the Grade Valley Road, approximately 5 miles south of Lockwood Valley Road. The second trailhead is located about seven miles south of Lockwood Valley Road along the Thorn Meadows Road (FS 7N03C).

GENERAL INFORMATION: The first trailhead is located right off of the Grade Valley Road, approximately 5 miles south of Lockwood Valley Road. The second trailhead is located about seven miles south of Lockwood Valley Road along the Thorn Meadows Road (FS 7N03C). This is a loop trail in the Sespe Wilderness. The trail travels through dense forested areas of Jeffery Pine, Sugar Pine, Big Cone Douglas Fir and hardwoods which add to the overall beauty found along this hike.
