Directions
From Ventura, Travel north on Highway 33 for about 25 miles. The highway is under restrictive use once it enters the forest. Located 6 miles off Highway 33 off Forest Road 6N31.3. The trail starts at the back of Middle Lion Campground, across the stream.
Location Information
GENERAL INFORMATION: The Lion Canyon Trail offers partial Wilderness access along a five and a half mile trail. It is easy for first two miles, then a moderate climb. The trail starts at the back of Middle Lion Campground, across the stream. You will reach two trail junctions along the way. The first one is at 1.3 miles where the trail to the right takes you to Rose Valley Lake. At the second junction, you can follow the trails to East Fork Lion Camp (left) which is within the Sespe Wilderness, West Fork Lion Camp (right), or to Nordhoff Ridge (straight) for spectacular views.
